I'm a Premier Executive on the waitlist (supposedly PA) for an upgrade on UA838 (2 class flt) from SFO-BOS on Saturday Apr 22. My booking class is "B". Upgrade to business class on UA870 from SYD on Saturday Apr 22 has already cleared.

I'm trying to establish the likely success rate of the upgrade request and if I do a dummy booking on UA's web site and go into seat request it's showing me 6 seats to pick from. If I then use the KVS tool for the same flight the only seating availability I'm seeing is F4 & C4 and zero availability in the entire economy section.

There appears to be a 2-seat discrepancy between the two systems and I'm wondering that's intentional or an error with the KVS lookup facility.
