Updated Blue zone costs

Also, did you guys know that bookings made via Sabre don't incur baggage fees?

Just checked my HBA-MEL-HBA DJ itinerary and can confirm that 'Short' flights have gone up by $5 for sitting in Blue Zone

I do now, my TA uses Gailieo so its not of concern to me, as I get 32kg free anyway with my DJ card

I see, I found a site that does use Sabre, but it still asks the Baggage question, Ahh well $10 extra is no big deal

Our corporate TA uses Sabre, but I guess there must be someone online who does as well. This is what we get on our itineraries:

That's true, but bookings made via Sabre incur a surcharge which is greater than the $10 baggage fee. Still cheaper to book via the internet.

The reason for not charging separately for baggage via GDS is that they don't have the facility to "tick a box" to pay for extras.

Most travel agents and travel managers make reservations with us using an API that hooks them directly into our res system via internet rather than GDS.

The terms and conditions for "free" baggage on Sabre bookings seems to have changed.

Old: EXCEPTIONS APPLY TO BOOKINGS MADE VIA SABRE, INTERLINING OR VELOCITY SILVER AND GOLD MEMBERS

New: 23KG BASE ALLOWANCE IS INCLUDED IF THE BOOKING IS MADE VIA THE GDS WITH VELOCITY GOLD OR SILVER MEMBERSHIP.

Does that mean that Sabre no longer includes luggage allowance for those travelling without status?

It's a rare DJ flight for me and I'm pretty keen on an exit row given I have no status.
