At first I was a little surprised to see VH-OJF parked at gate C4 (next to the JAL 763 operating my flight parked at gate C2). QF 744s are not regular visitors here.
I assume its here operating a charter flight. My guess is between KL and Jakarta. This weekend is the end of Ramadam, the Muslim Holy month of Fasting, with Monday and Tuesday being public holidays in many countries in the region. This is the time when many people travel back to their own home town/village to celebrate with their families. As such, lots of people are travelling and Qantas has provided aircraft for charter flights at this time of year before. QF's 743s used to do such charters regularly as they had the highest density seating capacity of fleets available in the region (450 seats, the same as QF's A380).
Anyway, VH-OJF was an interesting and unexpected sight with which to be greeted as the Aerotrain arrived at Terminal C.
