As a regular for my decades flying across the Nullarbor, due to yesterday inclement weather across the country, QF569 had a unusual flight path.
The Captain made the announcement before leaving Sydney, saying this was an unusual route to fly to Perth, heading for Leigh Creek and then Kalgoorlie as you can see from the snapshot copied from Flightaware.
Normal route is Adelaide, across the Australian Bight and then Esperance.
