Unobtainable cheap airfares... I wish I could get my 1 hour back

What a Joke... tried to book one of the new $19 MEL-Syd flights online... got to the last screen and it threw me out asking me to contact the airline...

Tried that.. was on hold and then got the oddest message in Japanese and then thrown out of the phone system... tried to enter the online system again and thrown out again...

I do not in general fly discount airlines... I did when I was a student, now I am earning (a little) more I have put a higher price on my time...

yes it is my own fault... you get what you pay for yadda yadda... but IMHO this is very negative advertising for the said airline (no medals for guessing which...)

Quite grumpy... (yes this is just a vent and a rant)

45 minutes back at least - the sale fares only started at 0800...

My PA has managed to book 2 lots of fares so far with success - SYD/MEL/SYD, both in NOV and both for 2 PAX

Maybe her computer is closer in a straight line to Jetstar than yours Cyclogenesis...

I was on the jetstar site booking a MEL/SYD for Monday (Flounge - need I say more?) and I admit it was slower than a wet week...

What intrigues me is that - after making it all the way through to the final screen, press payment and 45 seconds it all falls over. Nothing surprising there. What is interesting though is that my email address made it through and now I am subscribed to Jetmail. Noooooo, my credit card details don't make it through but the email address does. Typical.

It was not the slowness that got me in the end, it was the errors, and throwing me out of the queue... I am as patient as the next bloke, but I do not like doing things three times...

I guess it just left me with a bad impression so for me the sale concept backfired as I will now be less likely to use them in future..

Actually it's more like some other kind of torture where they string you along keeping your hopes up right to the end and then take it away from you. I'm sure they had something like that in medieval times.

Jetstar must have the worst airline website I've used.
The worst travel website would have to be Webjet though. I've tried booking using it but it kept selecting dates that I didn't select and wouldn't let me change. Does anyone use Webjet?

I just checked with the PA - she had booked the "checked baggage" option, therfore, they were not the cheap fares!

Webjet - very slow and error ridden im my experience - also does not always offer the best available fares...

I've spent a good 90 minutes trying to book some cheapies but to no success. Yes JQ's website is p*** weak when it comes to sale time - lagging, crashing, unavailable and who knows what?!?!?!?!

Being in the IT field I often wonder what kind of arrangement the budget airlines have.

It seems all of them rarely cope with their sales. I had so much trouble tryign to book with AirAsia a couple of months back when they were doing OOL - KL return for about $160 inc taxes.

Surely they can do a deal with whatever company is running their systems to increase capacity for the 1st day or 2 of the sale. I mean with virtualisation it's not that hard to add a few more servers, though adding extra bandwidth into the servers may not be quite as easy.

JQ will not be responding as I provided an online feedback that specifically states JQ will not get back to me. I am OK with that as all I wanted to do was rant how hopeless their site is when they have these sales.

Copied and Pasted the URL
Jetstar Airways Cheap Flights, Low Fares all day everyday from the world's best Cheap Fare airline

System was working
$19 fares came up.
Booked and paid in 2 minutes


What the.............??
