Interesting. The SQ award availability could take a while to settle down. I was actually able to select SQ flights last week.

I don't follow Lifemiles so had no idea. I've lost interest in MileagePlus. There's no longer any value in the program for me. I'll spend up what's there before the devaluation and then they'll get the odd car rental from me but I'll be looking to credit 1 day car rentals elsewhere but even that's getting harder and harder to do.

I have done the same with Aadvantage.

Would these awards be in the USA? That'd be good value but we hardly travel there.

From memory BKK-HKG one-way in business is 25,000 miles which is too much for such a short hop.

As I understand it any Star Alliance carrier eg BKK-CNX on TG or SIN-CGK on SQ etc etc

Unfortunately SIN-BKK too far but KUL-BKK ok

Thanks for the ideas. Something to keep an eye on when airfares to a destination close to BKK are too good to refuse.
