Platinum
Well it probably shouldn’t have been unexpected, but having given up the status game I don’t really keep track of it anymore. Also the general wisdom is Qantas doesn’t give many status credits on partner flights. However it appears our recent trip to JFK with Qatar brought in 640 status credits, which brings us very much back to Platinum.

I am actually excited about this, as we have a trip to Fiji in August with some friends and they have never been in a lounge - We will now be able to guest them into the F lounge :). Apart from that I don’t anticipate much flying in the next 18 months, so not really going to make any difference.

Well done. :) I thought that trip was in J? According to the Qantas SC calculator that should have earned 480 SCs return. If you were in F, it calculates at 720 return.

Don’t know - yes we were in J. We have been given 160 for each sector I.e cbr-doh doh-jfk and return. Even taking off the 160 “extra” sc, we make WP - our current total is 1575. As we are already LTG, I am not going to query it as the extra SC are not giving us any benefit :) Maybe cbr-Syd gives us some extra?

Congrats! A couple of friends accompanied me into SYD F recently for my birthday and it was great fun. We may have eaten a lot
That’s the plan and bubbly. I am not going to tell them, so it will be a nice surprise. Hopefully no delays in Canberra due to fog - August can be bad.

The calculator is actually wrong - CBR is not defined as a city with exceptions. ADL/BNE/PER/MEL/SYD all are.

Therefore CBR/DOH earns as per the "all other flights" table which makes it 160 for each leg. The actual earn is therefore correct.

Yes I can’t wait to take my friends in there - will be so much fun!

We find it so much fun to guest family and friends into the FLounges. It only takes a few moments before the penny drops and they agree that flying via SYD or MEL now makes sense to them.
