From memory Holiday Inn and Intercontinental in Bangkok have a packet of condoms in the basket of goodies in the room that one can purchase. A little overpriced but I am sure some people have a need for them.

Sheraton Sydney has condoms for purchase conveniently located near the red wine bottle.

So how many of these hotels facilitate the reason for the need in the first place? I've heard some Chinese hotels have been caught out at original suppliers as it were and are starting to out source te 'visitors'.

Amusingly, the lack of condoms in Hilton hotel rooms were one of the first things I noticed when I switched over from SPG. They were a standard mini-bar item at the Starwood properties I stayed at.

condoms are a standard amenity item in all Novotels in Australia
My experiance with Novotel is this too - and they also think nothing of you requesting a key or two being left behind the counter under the name of X who will be here to pick it up eventually (nothing sinister, just a friend :P).

Do you mean like the tube of KY Jelly we found down the back of the bed when we moved it to get the internet cable in a New Orelans hotel in 2001???

;)

That would match up with the 'toy' and cough tablet we found in our hotel room! And no, it wasn't in preparation for our visit - it was the last occupants! Hotel staff mortified re the lack of attention to detail with room cleaning - we enjoyed comp full buffet breakfast for our entire stay! Must say though it took me a whole to get over the Ewwww factor!

When we were shown into our Hyatt room in Melbourne (Club Room) there was a trail of rose petals to the bed and a heart shape on it. . But the thing was, the bed was rumpled. But not enough for someone to have slept in it. I'm thinking the honeymoon was over before it started.
