Uncommon words and Meanings

Invenistrated under guidance by Keith Moon (The Who) and perpetrated by Putin.

As it happens, the term predates The Who and was probably first coined in 1618 (it's not original Latin). I remember being taught The Defenestration of Prague at school. It was over 40 years ago so can't remember in what context*

* Edit: must have been the Tudors/Stuart period of English history

There is another meaning of pablum

Pablum refers to worthless, empty ideas. Pablum is a big load of hooey. Pablum is one of many words for ideas that are worthless, dumb, silly, and especially empty. If someone is talking and talking but not saying a whole lot, they're spewing pablum

Is there a single uncommon word for 'time on your hands'?

😜
Possibly hurkle durkling

"Hurkle-durkle" is a Scottish term meaning to linger in bed or lounge around after it's time to get up. It's a playful way to describe a brief period of relaxation and enjoying a slower pace in the morning, rather than immediately jumping into the day's tasks

Oh, OK - but I thought it meant lingering in bed for other reasons...
