Booked to travel to Hawaii with Jetstar however now only allowed 20kg whereas previous allowance was 2 bags each 32 kg. What would be the cheapest way to get excess baggage sent to Sydney from Hawaii?

Sounds like you intend going on a huge shopping spree whilst in Hawaii if you are even now considering excess luggage, so you might be better boxing and sending it air cargo or by ship if a huge amount as excess baggage costs heaps.

You're right! We travel to Hawaii for many years and it is like a second home to us. It has been suggested that we scan the local Hawaiian papers for shipping advertisers. However with the fall in USD our shopping may be reduced. Thanks.

Or try just posting via USPS. Obviously depends on the size and weight, but USPS can be quite economical for postage to Australia.

the US postal service works fine, just like our own.......

When away for a while in the US the collection of stuff builds up, a visit to the post office to send back my regular Aussie clothing I took with me works just fine enabling me to take all my new goodies with me on the plane. I find US post workers most helpful, even searching the back of the office to fine me a box to put things in and at no charge.

Works better at smaller post offices, but smarter to find you own box than hope they can find one for you.

I even sent back a box of gilsonite once which made it fine (a coal like mineral trench mined in the back blocks of Utah), the only problem was washing it in the motel bath tub left the tub stained black, but that's another story.
