Hi.
I am unable to book any flights on a multi city booking. I.e Mel /Hkg/LHR/ Doh/Mel .
It just advise no flights . Then I tried Mel/Hkg/LHR/Sin/ Mel.
Still same reply.
QF advise you can travel on all one world carriers. I changed dates etc ,but no better. Please advise.

Solution
Guessing this is a cash fare. With stopovers or just transits? Class of travel?
Without detailed checking
MEL-HKG by QF CX
HKG-LHR by CX BA
LHR-DOH by BA QR
DOH-MEL by QR
Not much in if for QF. What do you want to book via QF? QF may not sell other airline fares.
Why do you want to book in 1 PNR? Could have several separate tickets
You could ask a real travel agent (not an online travel agent)

Oneworld have Round the world RTW fares that you can mix carriers *ONE* and *GLOB*

Thanks.
I can use points one way MEL/DOH/LHR
But must book on QF site FF.
To be honest my last reward on QF in Jan was abysmal. I Now use my points...
The multi-city tool is fairly buggy.

It particularly doesn’t like mixed carriers.

I managed to get call fee waived after it kept crashing trying to ticket MEL-SIN-DXB-CDG, FRA-HEL-SIN-MEL so one option would be to try via call centre.

It may be there is no combinable fares - another option depending on your dates/stop requirements would be to try

THe DOH may be part of the issue. You could try MEL-HKG-DOH-LHR-DOH-MEL (ie. transit DOH on way to London as system may combine fares more easily in the background).

Noting the need to stop in DOH, have you tried multi city with Qatar?

Or you could do two tickets

MEL-HKG-MEL
HKG-DOH-LHR-DOH-HKG

There are a few ways to try. This is assuming DOH is an essential stop / transit.

Just confirming that you’re trying to book Classic Reward flights?

Depending on dates, there may just be no reward flights on some of those days. In particular, in/out of DOH is horribly constrained by QR withholding seats from QFF. But there could be BA options to DOH and maybe CX out of DOH etc.

Which is why it’s not bookable online via QF multi-city.

But bookable online with BA.
QF or CX MEL-HKG
BA HKG-LHR
BA or QR LHR-DOH
QR DOH-MEL

Would I still earn points on Qatar site and can you enter QFFF number

Yes. Booking via any OW airline for flights on OW metal generally will earn QFF points and SCs - except some deeply discounted economy fares. The earn rate will be less than if flying on QF metal/QF flight numbers.

As per my previous post, your itinerary did appear to be bookable on British Airways website. Their multi-sector tool didn’t like me breaking the journey into four sectors but did throw up options to LHR via HKG and back via DOH. If you require stopovers, a Travel Agent could probably book something.

As alluded to earlier, seperate bookings *might* work out a lot cheaper than a mixed airline booking.

Thanks.

What class of travel are you looking for?
Qatar QR flights to QF freq flyer program can be low or even nil earnings.
If you book BA marketed flights (flight number) on QR Qatar operated earning to QF ffp may be a lot better.
As above may be best to book with BA and a max of BA marketed flights. Avoid QR marketed flights (QR flight numbers)
A trip for a good TA to book.

This is hard to find in the QF web site. Intentionally hard to find IMHO. QF keeps directing to the silly "routes" table

With BA marketed flight far more discount economy fares earn to QF ffp. Or earn to a higher category. e.g. flex economy

It actually doesn’t matter if they’re BA or QR codes. They’ll earn the same. It’s just the way the QF earn table is structured that cruels the earn between Oz East coast and DOH. PER-DOH actually earns more!

But QF MEL-HKG will earn double the SCs than CX and more points based on QF FF tier.

Some low priced economy QR fare booking classes are not in the QR table--> nil earning as not listed.
For those low fares BA flight numbers better.
If flying in higher fare booking classes tends to have less negative effects. QF compared to BA compared to QR marketed flights
Or just credit to an avios ffp.

Adding this post here, because it is similarly relevant....

I've had all sorts of error reports this past week and now today I can't even log on to the website.

This is the same in Safari, Google Chrome and Firefox.

Actually, even the website is clunky and doesn't load properly for me at the moment. I've deleted my browsing history, cookies, cache.

I may have confused it with attempting a mixed class booking, including JQ domestic and international flights all over the place, but it should still be able to let me go back, edit my search and make it so that it's happy with it.

Fussy, the website is. :p:rolleyes:

A phone call helps. They'll waive the telephone booking fee if it's only because of website glitches. Only then they'll say that the fare and routing you found is not available, but then they could potentially release additional seats if you weren't able to book because of a glitch.

If you're nice.

Sometimes. They worked it for me last time.

But not always.

Not for me today anyway. Of course, it's all really a bit of a mixed bag, as we've all found. The multi-city option hates us AFFers who want to do something marginally outside the box that is not a MEL–SYD or PER–LHR flight. There are reward seats currently showing up on the QF website that the customer service folk cannot see at their end because those flights aren't yet available... what does that even mean, QF?

Can you tell that I'm getting cranky?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Multi-city has often been useless ...sometimes can call and book but that kinda defeats the purpose. Its unbelievable in this day an age, that these tech issues still persist. Additionaly, one can book flights through other means but qf - nada. <rant off> They must be loosing so much revenue.

Often cannot even log into business site. Amazing....

To be honest my last reward on QF in Jan was abysmal. I Now use my points on Other carriers to use them up as QF have lost it. QFFF told me to use Oneworld .com. It is sad when I have decided not to want fly QF. Yes I want a stopover in Doha. I know I cannot book on Qatar's site when using points. If I want to pay for complete journey on QR they want to re route to HKG via DOH and not offer other one world carriers. . IF I do seperate pnr's it costs much more. .Was very frequent traveller, but age catches up, so do fares etc. Now just travel mainly to S.E.Asia and domestic.

Solution
I used the multi-city tool to book two separate open jaws tics

1st
Different start and end Australian cities but with the same European arrival/departure city

2nd
Different destination and open jaws return to same city of origin. With a Singapore sling stopover thrown in

These were straight forward
However I did find the tool defaulted to overpriced QF flights and you had to go to change flights to book EK with a significant reduction to the final price. (Talking $1300 - $1800 plus Savings per return tic)
