Uber drivers at CNS routinely cancelling rides to manipulate surge pricing

As usual, I disagree with you.

Except about the wet season.
Mate, i live in Crystalbrook Bailey, the hotel is practically full as are the other crystalbrooks. The Rydges had one room available the other night, The Oaks tell me that they've hardly stopped this year and Fitzroy is 30 - 40% up on last year. We've also just had over a thousand managers here for the annual KFC convention. My wifes reef company that she works for has had their best year in twenty years and they were queued up to get into the restaurants on the nard last night. Oh, and I'm a hospitality driver shall we say, so know a thing or two about how the season is going. So you see, i base my facts on proven evidence you don't!

There is much more to Cairns than the CBD and 5 star convention market.
My facts disagree with yours...obviously Exemplars do as well.
The dozens of Taxis and Ubers sitting out the airport and under trees are not prospering much either.
Great that you are doing well - somebody has got to pay tax, but we are not all in the same boat, and I am allowed a different opinion to you.

Indeed you are entitled to your own opinion when based on facts. You said there were no tourists when there are, my facts prove it end of story. I have many friends who have bars and restaurants and they're busy too. The convention market isn't all five star, i mentioned many establishments non five star and the fact is, most tourists visiting Cairns stay in the CBD. Exemplar went bust after thirty years, we don't know why yet but possibly part of the problem is that two people can get an Uber to Port douglas door to door cheaper than they could a shuttle bus! Oh, and whilst we're on the subject of Ubers and Taxis sat under trees. Very weird as i'm an Uber driver, i have a fare literally from start of the day to when i finish. Taxis are the same, always busy generally. You seem to have a grumpy chip on your shoulder for some reason that nothing will shift apart from you changing the goal posts when proven wrong. I'm out of this pointless conversation now. Au Revoir.
