First trip report I've seen on the new UAE passenger service Etihad Rail from Paul Lucas.


Recently opened services from Abu Dhabi (Mohamed bin Zayed City) to Fujairah (Al Hilal City).

Additional stations open later this year (30 Sep 2026) in Dubai (Jumeirah Golf Estates) and Sharjah (Al Dhaid). Goes right past the future DWC Airport as well

Appears it will connect to the Dubai Red Metro Line.

Interesting. 900km of standard gauge rail.
The end is not far from Doha, but no idea of the geography

Dubai – Abu Dhabi, high speed (planned)
In 2025, Etihad Rail announced a new 150-km high-speed train line between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. It will connect the two cities in 30 minutes, reaching speeds of up to 350 km/h. The line is expected to be operational by 2030.
