I'm flying ORD-SYD in November on UA and continuing to PER. The schedule has me arriving at SYD at 0750 and departing for PER on Virgin Blue at 1325. Is there a lounge I can use during the layover? I'm a UA Premier Exec so I can use Star Alliance lounges, but I think I'm out of luck at Terminal 1 because the UA and ANZ lounges are past the departure point. Does anyone know if the Virgin Blue lounge honors Star Alliance Gold members?

No access to Virgin Blue lounge for *G members, and no access to the UA RCC (or SQ SKL or NZ IL) since you are international arriving pax not departing (all these lounges are airside). If you want lounge access you will need to pay for it (or if QF WP you could visit the Qantas Club).

Unfortunately the UA and other Star lounges are airside in the International Terminal. For Virgin you need to take a bus transfer to the Domestic Terminal. However Virgin are operating the old Ansett lounges on a pay as you go basis - including food and drinks.

Good reason to go through Auckland to Perth. You also get miles alla the way.
