Last Thursday and Friday both SYD - SFO flights were cancelled, so I'm told. A family member travelling to SFO for a funeral was put on HA via HNL. So which program will the points go to?

While I suspect they would be entitled to an original routing credit through United (Star Alliance), it probably wouldn't hurt claiming for the HA flights after the original routing credit is confirmed? ;)

Thanks Matt, i've told him to hang onto his boarding passes, hopefully he still has them. And then we can check later after he returns. Fingers crossed. ;)

UA put me on Delta flight a couple of years ago. Original routing credit worked and got points on UA with no issue. I didn't try double dipping though :D

it depends on the booking code, check wheretocredit . com/hawaiian-airlines
