BNE airport today announced that JLL Hotels and Hospitality are seeking RFPs from hotel managers for two new hotels to be built on the airport precinct. There has been a little media coverage, which mostly cuts and pastes the announcemnet. Other than a nod to the 2032 Olympics, there is no mention of opening dates.
Two new hotels marked for Brisbane Airport
Hopefully this will provide more competition for the three existing airport hotels, which are all commonly owned and carry Accor branding. A hotel opposite the International terminal will be welcomed by this little black duck, who rues the inconvenience of the options when alighting from the 2330 CX flight from HKG. Another will be built in the carpark opposite the Novotel at Skygate in the middle of nowhere, AKA the "fast-growing Skygate retail and entertainment precinct".
