Hi All

I have some slightly odd questions regarding booking a trip with MH (in J) next year.

I need to get from HKG to DRW, and I've found that flights to DRW seem to be cheapest ex-SIN. Therefore, I am hoping to fly HKG-KUL-SIN and then SIN-KUL-DRW on the same day.

Looking at the flights, I can get from HKG-SIN by 15:45, well before the SIN-DRW leg, which departs at 19:10.

Would MH honour the bookings if I made them separately? Also, what would happen if I was delayed on the HKG-SIN leg and couldn't collect my bags and check in for SIN-DRW in time?

Thanks!

You should have no issues with two bookings.

Being MH to MH they should interline the bags, albeit the double KUL entry on HKG-KUL-SIN-KUL-DRW may cause a problem at HKG checkin (so you might be better collecting and rechecking bags).

Like any connecting flight not booked on the same PNR, unfortunately you have no protection on delayed flights (and unlikely to get any travel insurance that will cover you either).

That said if they HKG-KUL flight is delayed, or there is a delay at KUL airport, I suspect that MH might be able to find a way to avoid you flying to SIN and back.

Thanks for that - in that case, given the costs involved, I'll probably take the least risky option and fly to SIN the day before.
