Hi all

I just thought I would get some ideas on how to better use Twitter. I currently have an account and follow a few people/groups but it is very sporadic. I am using an iPhone 4S and that would be my primary device. What I am finding is that unless I go into a Twitter client then I can't get good and timely tweets - I can't them to flash up like an email would.

Any thoughts on that?

Secondly what are people actually using it for - I don't mean business vs. social but I find I have hundreds of unconnected things that I am either interested in or might be interested in - but to have hundreds of connections would be overwhelming.

Any thoughts on that?

Cheers

Think of twitter as a flowing stream, if you dip your hand in it gets wet but when you take your hand out the water keeps on flowing never to be seen again...

If you're on an iPhone download hootsuite, it's the easier app ive found (can also be used on your desktop) to monitor and upload/schedule tweets.

Boss - I am in Melbourne four weeks in a row coming up...

Opusman - I guess that is my problem - I feel like when I do not see a tweet then I am missing something and I have no way of seeing them all...

Simon you'll never see them all, you just catch what you can.

It helps if you only follow those you're interested instead of following random people in the hope they'll follow you back as the newsfeed will pass slower.

I use it alot to follow colleagues and connect with people in and out of my industry, and sometimes I'm on all the time and sometimes ill go a few days or more without even checking in and tweeting, but its definitely useful and worth checking out and doing a bit of trial and error with it.
