We loved NipTuck - such a weird but entertaining show. It was a nice touch that the son of an Australian Prime Minister plays exactly that in Residence

Watched Coriolanus on SBS World Movies the other night (also available on demand). Was Ralph Fiennes directing debut (and also starring in title role). Even though 2011 it was incredibly engrossing. Kept the Shakespearean text but set in contemporary pseudo Balkans country - bit like the Yugoslav wars. Recommended.

Ok, an amazing and truly intriguing Documentary Series to watch is the three seasons of:

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace

It was filmed over many years and this case is truly unique.

I will give you the same advice that my adult daughter gave to my wife and I when she recommended the show. Do not google, or research, it at all in advance. This Series has more twists and turns than the best fictional crime shows. And a story that is unbelievable, but is true. So just watching it and having matters revealed is a key enjoyment of the series.

Churchill would have described it as “It’s a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma…”


You can watch the first two seasons for free (but with Ads!) on Nine Now, or all three seasons including the final one on Max (which means that some who have Foxtel will be able to watch it).


Now the first two or so episodes are a bit bland, and shall I say made in the style that many USA Documentaries are made in that has myself often not enjoying a documentary for that reason, and hence avoiding them. But, then production improves, the story further unfolds after that my wife and I were hooked.

The subject matter at times is gut wrenching, horrifying and heartbreaking. The story is a tragic one.

I've watched the first couple of episodes of Ballard on Prime and its descent, I like episodes aren't being drip fed and you can binge as you'd like.

The pre-release media said it would distance its self from Bosch yet it took all of 5 minutes for Harry to make an appearance.

Yes, it’s ok but not particularly riveting! Same old plot really as many.

I've been playing the Bosch Drinking game with my partner whilst powering through more of Ballard.

So far we have had to drink for Harry, Crate, Barrell and Mo; wondering when/if we will see Honey Chandler or J Edgar?

Currently viewing the USA Ghosts..I don't think (?) I have ever preferred a USA remake of a British show but the USA version I am enjoying quite a bit more than the UK one

Just finished Untamed with Eric Bana and Sam Neil. Reasonable series. I thought Sam Neil's accent wandered and was a bit unconvincing.

I watched it on Saturday afternoon, I had figured out where Sam Neil fit in really early on, as why else have a big name and then give them hardly any screen time in first 2/3s of the show. And yes he waivered between American and kiwi accounts on multiple occasions.

Was also obvious that Bana and the wife were somehow involved with the other missing guy from the beginning.

It was an ok as a miniseries, doesn't have the legs for more seasons. TBH the ex LA cop who was partnered with Bana was the most interesting character.

That's what I thought too. Happy not to claim him as aussie on this occasion.
