TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Just the absolutely perfect ending to Succession...... Logan won (of course) - realistically didn't have any choice but to merge/sell out - Tom won (and in spite of the cough way he's treated Greg brought Greg "over to the dark side" with him and you realise he's in on the deal), Roman so close to winning and switched to the losing team at the last moment, Shiv incandescent.
Beautifully crafted even though there's not a single likable character nor one you can empathise with. You have to hang on every word because every word is so important.
The scripting is SO good, so tightly written.
Even the gestures - that gentle pat on Tom's shoulder by Logan at the very end - just breathtaking wonderful to watch the storytellers' art and craft.
Wow, just WOW!

We are still in the second season of Succession so scrolling away from those.
Sorry.... but the thread does say Spoiler Alert.

No it’s all cool. You didn’t go rogue. 😂We were just slow to the party. Didn’t like the first episode much so took a break but now enjoying it.

Yes it does. Click on the three vertical dots next to the palette symbol just above the text box. On the RHS is what look like a mask. High light the text and then click that button.

Or in BB code use [ISPO ILER] and [/ISPO ILER] at the start and end of the text. (don't type the space between the O and I)

But to be honest buyer beware if they venture here.

Putting my head up above the parapet. Tried to watch the new sereis on Anne Boelyn last night.

Jodie Turner-Smith interview: ‘People were always going to feel a certain way about a Black actor playing Anne Boleyn’

How One Actress Is Reshaping the Story of Anne Boleyn

I’m all in favour of multi-cultural multi-race actors but having an historical series on Anne Boleyn where she is portrayed by a black actor is quite ridiculous IMHO.

But the new movie The French Dispatch is very good.

Yes, it was a bit of an odd series. Watchable though, largely.

Just watched first 5 episodes of "Station Eleven" on Stan, apparently wrapped filming in Jan 2020 so before the pandemic but obviously some parallels. Do love that the Arts seemed to have survived over sports!

Stan also has the original Flying Doctors tv series, have taken a stroll down memory lane and watched all the Kate & Geoff centric episodes across 9 seasons (season 10 doesnt count, they sacked the cast and got a new one that had no charm). Some storylines have ages well (it was filmed 1986 - 1992) but surprisingly they did episodes on farmer suicide/mental health which still ring true today.

Also watched the 2021 Call The Midwife Christmas special on BBC First (ABC were trying pass last years xmas special as this years). Shame they didnt give Lucille a nicer wedding dress. Looking forward to season 11, hoping Trixie will hook up with Matt Aylward, actress is pregnant in real life so would be one way to keep her in the show.

I am going back to the beginning to eke out as much pleasure from this epic as I can…they make the Medici’s look like the Brady Bunch. Masterful

Went to download some content for flight only to discover Stan now only lets you download certain shows, grrr.

We have always disliked Tom and dismissed him as a wimp. But he had one line the other night which was gold - we are only just starting the latest series, and that was when he told Shiv about his marriage - he had to decide whether the pain of living without her was more than the pain of living with her (words to that effect).

I think succession almost deserves its own thread for the travel aspects. I learnt (from Connor of all people) that those planes you and I take are ‘scheduled flights’ , scenery in last series especially is intoxicating ;who recognises SEMI-SPOILER ALERT the owner of trademark for the aviation company now known as VA’s Como Villa?
you can tell I love this show🥳

Finally watched the 9 episodes of Squid game. Bit of a twist at the end.
The VIP episode was kind of odd, maybe it was a joke against netflix or other pay per view TV.

Have been watching The Crown for a bit of history, and Grace And Frankie for a bit of light entertainment.
