Turkish or Emirates into Europe from Bali

For me, both J products are excellent so the choice would be which one gives more things to do on the layover. DXB is only good if you have enough time to grab the metro to the gold souk area for shopping. IST now has a metro but it would still take a long time to get to the interesting areas of Istanbul, doesn't seem like you have enough time. I would choose the longer flight to give more sleeping time, so TK. Their food is amazing for plane food! I find the Turkish FA's very friendly but I do speak a little Turkish so they seem to appreciate that.

But the timings of the transits will kill you! 3am, 4am :( Will mess with the body clock.
Going to Europe anyway so that's the deal with travel.

We have transited overnight in Dubai before. So blessed hot! Given that the TK flight is 13 hours, and departs in the early evening then that's plenty of time for a normal time to sleep. So really for the next 15 hours or so we'd be awake anyway. So 3am isn't that time in our body clock. Arrive into CDG and stay awake for a bit, have a meal and sleep. We have an early ish flight to Malta the next day.

Going westbound shouldn’t be so bad… but the timing of the transits on EK really sucks here. The TK ones are far better to try and get some normalcy.
There are a few other options like depart early morning on EK but that won't get into CDG until later that night and too close for me, for our departure next morning. Or we could have two nights in Paris but not really wanting to do that this time. Just too short for value. I also checked into Qatar but the flight that works best was super expensive.

As Qantas Platinum will we have access to F lounge in Dubai or J Lounge? In the past EK have been good to us with upgrades but that's just been lucky.
Doesn’t look like this was answered but I would expect F lounge access for the onward flight (although happy to be corrected).

I saw a similar question asked on FT the other day (QF benefits flying EK ex Asia) and someone responded they don’t apply - which I believe is a crock of… but having never done it (apart from the QF codeshare tech stop via BKK), I wasn’t in a position to provide a definitive answer.

As others have said, if you could get all EK A380s all the way, a no brainer. Shame about no SCs…

did Jakarta to MAN with Etihad last year, in business. Even then the approx. 8 hour sectors didn't really allow enough time to sleep. I'd probably go for TK for the ~12 hour sector.
But have only flown TK in Y from Brussels to IST about 10 years ago. No experience with their business.

Have you seen this you tube from Dennis Bunnik? Malaysian and Turkish to Europe

Of course, might have known he'd done a video! Thankyou. He's brilliant. And a local to boot 😁
