Hi, has anyone purchased from the Apple Australia Online Store, then claimed a refund via TRS? I know the TRS just requires an Australian ABN on the tax invoice - am I right in assuming the Apple Aus online store is an Australian entity with an ABN? And is there any problems with buying online? I've never done the Australian TRS before, but have exported goods from the EU and claimed the VAT back - I believe the rules in the UK state that online purchases are not eligible for tax refunds.

I'll be claiming at Melbourne Airport a few days before Xmas.
Thanks

I've done it for a purchase from the Australian apple store. If you pay gst they are obliged to issue an Australian tax invoice/receipt.

Thanks for the replies. I've not placed the order yet, just wanted to confirm before I do that A. Apple Aust online issue gst receipts with an abn and that I'm not actuall purchasing from an overseas site disguised as Australian, and B. That the TRS works for internet purchases. Thanks!

I've claimed back various things after purchasing them online on the Apple Store. You are issued a tax invoice from the Apple Store at time of shipment.

Tax invoices are issued by Apple Pty Ltd, ACN 002 510 054.

Done it a few times with apple stuff. No problems at all. Watch your $900 limit.

$900 is only on the return though. If you're taking something out of the country and it's not returning, you can claim as much as you like :)
