Hi all,

I'm going to be flying on SQ246 (departing BNE at 2355) soon, and was hoping to claim back some GST on the way out. However, I'm not sure whether the TRS desk is open until then. The customs website notes that:

Claims at airports are available up to 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight.

I'm not sure whether that's a promise ("sure, we'll be open until 23:25!"), or whether it's a bit of "covering our a__" wording (i.e. "we could be open whenever we want, but if it's after 30 minutes prior to the scheduled departure of your flight, forget it").

Has anyone experienced some late night TRS action? I'd be interested if you've been flying out on SQ246, CX156 or EK433 (not sure about the flight number, but I'm meaning the emirates flight that leaves between 2-3am).

Thanks!

TRS booth will be open.

Australian Customs manager the TRS on behalf of the government, so staff will be always on duty, irrespective of the time of day or unless the airport is closed.

Great! Just what I wanted to hear :)

Thanks

Yes, can confirm what Cosi has reported. Have flown out of BNE on CX at midnight and the TRS desk was staffed by a very happy and friendly fellow. A suggestion, check the online map beforehand as it was a little bit tucked away when I have used it.
