Any suggestions please on innovative or alternate ways to get from Tromso to AMS?

Next year I depart AMS at 1115 on SQ? Flights wise, there are not very good connections via CPH and OSL.

Yes thanks, I'll probably have to. The citizenM hotel at AMS gets good reviews. I was hoping someone may have a creative way.

Stupidly, I've booked a 07.25 departure from OSL meaning we'll need to depart TOS the day earlier. I imagine your 11.15 snookers you just the same.

Ouch, that's horrible.

Just looked real quick at the price of AMS airport hotels in high season, they were a ridiculous price. May have to investigate airbnb of which there are many not far from the a/port.

Or, TOS - CPH then a couple days there and risk an early connection to AMS.

I have time to look for other modes of transport, if they exist.

Data point.

Just booked (tonight) the following flights with SAS... (really liking that TK *G status match :D)

BGO-TOS ... A$680

TOS-OSL ....A$444

These are for flights in Jan 2016, for four people - my kids are classed as adults due to being >12.

I'm going Bergen to TOS on the Hurtigruten. Just got to get back again ...

If I book SAS, can I get some points for that and are they useful for anything?

We did Bergen to Tromso on Hurtigruten just prior to Christmas 2013 - a fantastic trip. My partner and I wished we had stayed on board to Kirkenes as the Christmas spirit was terrific rather than going to Warsaw for a very, very ordinary Christmas courtesy of the in laws. We also flew SAS (TRO OSL) on pretty cheap seats and still got some points credited to SQ.

I booked SAS purely on the basis of my *G status (match), the benefits will come in handy. At this stage of the trip we'll have been travelling for 4 weeks. Hate to think what the baggage fees could be  Although, I think *G is useless for BGO-TOS as this will be operated by Wideroe but booked thru SAS ... I might get lucky.

I got a really good price Hurti price Bergen to Tromso that was too good to refuse. I may look at returning TOS - ZRH and jumping into an SQ suite.:D (It seems so easy to say that now due to the kindness and patience of some specialist SQ forum members who have been a terrific help, oh and a few VA to SQ points).

Nice! We're leaving TOS making our way to ORY (via, OSL & LHR), 4 nights in Paris and then it's CX F CDG-HKG  (J) HKG-BNE ... largely due to contributions made to the ATO :D

Fifa, I tried Cruise Norway, Bontour and Hurtigruten in Washington State. After many emails and hours on Skype, Hurtigruten in the US came up with the best price. I started by looking at Polarys, and then found that I could get a single cabin cheaper, but only on the Finnmarken. So, I went with that.

Edit: there was also Vacations to Go etc etc. Hurtigruten really knew their product and took the time to go over many permutations. They have a 1800 number that can be called free on Skype.

Who did you end up booking through?

That's a very nice trip. I've got some price alerts in on skyscanner now, and never having been to ZRH, I'll have a quick look around there. It seems a good transit for a day point with quick easy access to free hotel shuttles and hotels close to the city.
