Activate and book by 29 May to earn triple Status Credits on eligible Virgin Australia flights. We got 3 days to book!

To be eligible for the Triple Status Credits offer (Offer) you must (1) activate this Offer via the activation link, via the Velocity Frequent Flyer app or via www.velocityfrequentflyer.com within the member dashboard under ‘Activated Offers’ between 12.01am AEST 27 May 2024 and 11.59pm AEST 29 May 2024 inclusive (Promotion Period); (2) after offer activation, book and ticket an Eligible Flight during the Promotion Period and enter a valid Velocity membership number at the time of booking; and (3) complete travel on the Eligible Flight booked during the Promotion Period. An Eligible Flight is any Domestic, Trans-Tasman or International Short Haul Virgin Australia marketed and operated flight for travel between 27 May 2024 and 31 July 2024 (inclusive) that normally earns Status Credits. For more information on Status Credits, click here. Tickets purchased on codeshare services marketed or operated by partner airlines or Virgin Australia operated flights combined in the same booking as a partner or non-partner operated flight are not eligible for this Offer. The promotion is for new Eligible Flights booked and ticketed during the Promotion Period, and changes to existing bookings made prior to the Promotion Period are not eligible. Status Credits cannot be earned on Velocity Reward Seat bookings. Bonus Status Credits will be applied to the originally purchased fare class. Any upgrades (other than when you paid the full commercial fare) will not attract bonus Status Credits as a result of this offer. Eligible Flights that satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible to earn 200% more Status Credits than the Status Credits that would normally be earned for that flight and fare class. There is no limit on the amount of times this offer can be redeemed. Where multiple guests are listed on the same booking, only those guests who satisfy the above eligibility criteria are eligible for this offer. You should allow up to 4 weeks after satisfying the above eligibility criteria for the bonus Status Credits to be allocated. Velocity membership and Status Credit earn are subject to the Member Terms and Conditions, as amended from time to time.

Has anyone had any luck with these kinds of offers before with it applying in retro? I booked some business class return tickets from MEL to OOL and then activated this offer probably 4 hours later because I didn't realise it was there (hadn't received an email). Anyone ever had it work for them still?

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Once activated do flights need to be booked through Virgin or are third party sites also an option?
Needs to be booked via app or VA website. Must be VA flight number OPERATED by VA is not a codeshare with VA flight number.

I would book via app or velocity website to be sure. Must be VA flight number OPERATED by VA is not a codeshare with VA flight number

End of FY Revenue pump! I note travel is for June and July.

Numbers must be below budget if they have pulled this offer. Might push them over the line.

Can't I use Amex travel to book and use my travel credit to count?

This is insane!

5 single flights in business class between SYD and MEL or BNE and you’ve requilified - SC wise - for platinum (still need a return eco trip to boost the sector count.

That’s $1850 for platinum.

Benefits will be even harder to use going forward.

You best bet is to cancel the Business class bookings - being business there should be no penalty - the funds should go to your travel bank

Then rebook using the travel bank funds.

Note that this will only work if there would still be the business fare available after you cancel.

Another way of you are able to regularly utilise travel bank funds and can handle the cost tied up is to make a new booking. Once that is ticketed, cancel the earlier booking to travel bank.

Just looked and the flights have gone up 200 each way and for two people that's 800 bucks...

soooo I just booked a second trip instead :p

Not sure you're correct about that. In the past I've had double SCs applied for bookings through AmEx travel (which also received the AmEx discount).

As long as it's a VA flight operated by VA, and you've entered your Velocity number when you book, it doesn't matter whether you book directly or via a third party.

I have done this in the past for double SC offers, and received the double SCs. The T&C's of this offer don't say anything about having to book directly through Virgin.

Just booked MEL-OOL return in Business -- 480 SC's for less than $800. Gotta be happy with that!
