Just in case anyone might find this useful, TripIt Pro is currently half price as a "black friday" promotion

Currently $24 for a year's access. (Normally $48)

I've paid for the Pro features in the past, but let it lapse during Covid. But at $24 and with a fair bit of travel scheduled for the next 12 months I thought I'd jump back in.

What are the pro features you use? I've used TripIt for a long time, but mainly just to aggregate all my itineraries in one place and to add as an extra calendar across various applications.

I have had Tripit Pro for nearly a year with many flights this year, and will let my membership lapse. The extra info it gives is freelly publically available eg Google your flight number for gate number / flight delays so even at 1/2 price I wont be renewing. The free version is good enough.

Is there an expiry date for this offer?
Promotion applies only to purchases made on the TripIt website. Offer is not valid for current TripIt Pro users. After one year, the subscription price will be the regular $49 USD rate. Promotion price is listed in US. Promotion ends December 1st, 2023 at 11:59PM PT.

Main thing is the real-time monitoring, and SMS notifications of delays, gate changes etc. Can be quite handy for complex itineraries.

Definitely the best part and it’s free.

Well I've signed up using the offer above. Let's see, no doubt the calendar sync will end up being a paid service at some point.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Free TripCase does this for most PNRs now (but email and app notification, not SMS).

I've kept it mainly for the flight monitoring (scheduling and gate changes, connection details & baggage claim), but as others have suggested, the availability of data in public domain, and through the carrier's own apps is getting that much better, that it's certainly not as valuable as it once was in this regard. That said; I don't really want to have to have all the carrier's native apps running with their own PNRs entered and tracking me, and so it retains value even for this simplification factor.

PRO Points Tracker was useful earlier on, but with many of the airlines now requiring MFA or other verification for sign-ons, it's not able to track accounts as effectively as it used to. I only really use it now as back-up 'log' of account numbers, if I can't find any.

I recently used the 'Flighty' app during a trip on a free trial, and enjoyed the richer features and detail it offered with regard to monitoring and related activities, so I may end up look at making a change to a Lifetime Flighty subscription (RRP US$399) if I can get that on sale between now and next TripIt PRO renewal, as it would probably save me money in the longer term v.v. ~US$50 a year with TripIt PRO. I'd retain TripIt free for the trip planning, and Flighty for the monitoring. The two are able to be synced automatically.

Cheers,
Matt.
