Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

You don't necessarily need to backtrack to see Pisac. We went into the Sacred Valley over the high road from Cusco and took the other route through Pisac back.

Our guide was through Inka Natura but he is also independent and his details are:

Queoma Hidalgo Moreano

his English was excellent too.

Ask your local hotel for a price guide. The price is fixed although a little negotiable but overall it was cheap. The hotel should also be able to point you to where the taxis are but generally the taxis found us....the second they see you lugging your luggage, you will be asked "taxi, taxi...?" Consider staying at the place below in Ollantaytambo...it is right at the train station to MP...ask for a room at the back to avoid the train noise! Has a nice restaursnt for dinner as well!
El Albergue Hotel - Ollantaytambo

Ok good to know. And thanks for the hotel rec, will check it out :)

Was just about to ask about English :) Thanks so much for the details. And good point about going a different way there and back.

The original trip report and responses in this thread have been good. Planning a Peru-Cuba Trip for April. However time prevents me from doing the actual Inca trail, which friends have done and said is a must do, but I think the train there and stay a night in Aguas Calientes sounds like the best way to do it when time is an issue. I think I'll have 3 weeks for Peru and 2 weeks for Cuba... Still need to finalise that.

Just read this trip report, as we are considering a trip to Lima and Machu Picchu next year. Thanks Mattg for a great report.

Enjoyed this TR the first time I read it. However, now that we have flights (SCL) booked for May ... the second reading takes on a whole new meaning.

Terrific report with excellent comments/tips from other AFF members.

Hi Mattg,

Just re-reading your wonderful TR while locking in part of our trip to Peru, Bolivia and Chile.

A great report and, as always, very helpful. Thanks for all the effort you put into your reports.
