Hi all,

Last night I travelled Business Class and as promised in a prior thread here is my trip report.

I got to Perth Airport just after 1pm, checked in then headed for the QANTAS lounge. I had 2 schooners of Little Creatures and 2 Bourbon and Coke's. After this I had some fruit, coffee and salads. I was extremely impressed at the lounge - what a way to start off the flight.

The flight to Melbourne got called for boarding and I went off to the gate, I was quite surprised at how comfortable the seats are and I love that footrest. The level of service in Business class is amazing - it was so nice to be called Mr. There was a 3 course meal that I had and the flight attendants were really nice.

I think that flying Business Class (or higher) is something that everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime. The level of service is something that you would never ever get in Economy.

Next time I go over I will work the finances out so that I could go Business.

Thanks for the report. What time of day did you fly?

Thanks for moving the thread.

Time of flight leaving Perth was 15:40 and arriving into Melbourne just after 21:00.

Thanks for your trip report...

... at (up to) $1,800- one way, finances have to be well sorted for regular transcon travel (unless someone else is picking up the tab, or one is using a points upgrade).

Yes finances have to be in order. I am not going to Perth until end of March 2011 so that leaves me with plenty of time to get organised. This trip was an upgrade using my points but I am aiming for a return trip to Manchester in First Class but I now only have 94k points (I need another 100k for the trip).

Sorry, after re reading QANTAS, I need 210k points for a return trip to Manchester in First Class.

Unless I am a very good swimmer.... I just updated my app on my iphone lol.

First Time Trip Reports are not only a vicarious way to regain virginity (nothing like the excitement of the first time), but make an interesting read because of what details are included (and by that virtue those excluded).

Here's to First Class to Manchester!
