Hi all,

I'm off to India on Sunday for a business trip. I would love to hear any advice you guys might have.

I'm Velocity Gold.

Here's my itinerary:

So my questions:

I couldn't choose my seat when booking (I assume because I booked through VA website) and the flight looks to be almost full from a dummy booking via SQ website.

Am I just going to have to accept my allocated seat (I don't even know if I have one yet)?
Would seat allocation on SQ website be blocking out seats or is it actually 98% full?
Is it worth checking in early to try and get an exit row seat?
Or could I request the seat next to me be blocked?

I'm 6'5 so extra leg room helps a lot!

How would I go about trying to get an upgrade?
Is there any way I could use velocity points?

If you have any other tips, let me know! Thanks in advance.

Your pic is way to small, but based off your questions im assuming your flying SQ
1. Check in early and do seat selection (you can try asking for a spare seat next to you or even exit row) but chances are not great if they flights busy at all.
2. SQ block alot of their seats so not a true indication
3. VA cant selected seats beforehand when booked on SQ
4. Can not upgrade with velocity points, depending what fare your ticket is you could transfer points from VA to SQ at a 1.35:1 ration and possibly upgrade but check and confirm before you transfer. You need to have a flexi ticket to do this.
