Now here's something you don't see every day... a decent carryon at a bargain price. Travelpro Platinum 5 for $89.95 + $8.95 delivery.

Travelpro Platinum 5 - iDumpit

I'm sure that many of you are familiar with the Travelpro Platinum range but for those that aren't - Lifetime warranty, good quality and a good reputation.

I took the chance and ordered one from the above unknown (to me) website. So far so good. I ordered on Friday and received an email on Monday saying it has been shipped.

I'm impatient so I tought I'd post here before receiving the bag so buyer beware. You might want to wait until I receive the bag!!

I'd be keen to hear if anyone has any experience with this bag. I took the bet for the $ but it could be a bargain if the bag lives up to it's hype.

Well it arrived today. Definitely thinking about buying another one as a spare!

It's one sturdy feeling bag.

Whats it like weight wise when empty?

TG

I don't have any scales here but it's quite heavy. A lot heavier than most bags this size.

Edit: Found the weight on a website - approx 4.25kgs

How does that weight compare to other bags of a similar size? That's almost up to the weight limit of a carry on bag!

Probably why they're discounted! I'm in the market for a new carry on - any other ideas/specials?

Check out Antler. IMHO they're a good product and light weight.

I have this one : Luggage Direct Australia Online – luggage, suitcases, antler, Samsonite, cabin luggage, , although the single handle design is a bit clumsy.

Luggage Direct used to be pretty cheap, but looks like their prices have gone up a little. There is a 5% discount if you are a Rydges PriorityGuest member Luggage Direct - a Rydges PriorityGUEST Program Partner

I have the same bag, albeit in a much more colourful look :p

Have found it to be excellent and good value for money, I also bought it from Luggage Direct on the recommendation of Dot.
