TravelPass with DSC offer (No Longer Offerred)

Yes, which is what got me concerned, because it has been well over 8 weeks for one of those flights, and still no bonus credits. Instead I am now asked to prove that the TP is legitimate.
apologies. I misunderstood the situation. thought you meant nothing had posted within a few days - as is usual for other DSC promos.

That makes no sense - if QF don't know their TP THEY issued is legit... how are you supposed to? Even if you provide the opt in confirmation email showing the DSC offer - if they don't have that detail notated in their system then it comes down to your word it seems/ how weird. :(

Qantas did a batch yesterday so my double SCs from early November just posted.

I was also waiting more than 8 weeks for DSCs from a TravelPass to arrive, so yesterday I emailed QFF and provided details of the flights (dates, flight numbers, from/to), along with copies of the following emails that Qantas had sent me:
  • email confirming that my old, cancelled booking, (let's say ABC123), would be converted to a TravelPass with DSCs.
  • email confirming that the booking was converted to a TravelPass, which showed both the old booking reference ABC123 and the TravelPass number (let's say 111111111119999). (Note that this email did NOT state that this TravelPass had DSCs attached, which is why I included the previous email.)
  • e-ticket itinerary and receipt for the new booking (let's say XYZ987), which showed that the TravelPass had been used to part-pay the flights. (The Payment Details section shows that a payment type of "UATP" was used, along with the last four digits of the TravelPass in the reference field, ie "9999".)
  • a screenshot from my QFF activity record showing that the normal points and SCs had been credited, to prove that I actually took the flight, as I didn't have copies of the boarding passes.
Got the customary "We received your email but may take a few days to get back to you" response, so settled in for a wait. But the DSCs were credited within 24 hours (as one transaction line, ie as the sum of all the DSCs rather than individual DSCs for each flight).

Huh. So I guess the email I sent to QFF wasn't required after all!

Nice. A few friends had their TravelPass DSC post today. Will be a big help for them retaining WP. Glad they don't have to chase up the DSC.

As for me, I didn't ever have any TravelPass with DSC attached and have only the rollover SC at the moment, so I have some flying to book during the next DSC promo.

Flights from earlier in the year posted correctly but recent flights from early October haven't posted so called today to follow-up. Had to get escalated internally... so will see what happens in a few weeks i suspect.

The missing DSCs from my flight on October 2 were finally credited today. I think they were just missed and triggered by my email containing all the proof they asked for.
Now the November flights are still missing their DSCs, but it has only been 3 weeks so it's still early days. The TP T&Cs mention it could take up to 6 weeks after travel.

This was my experience too. The early October flight DSCs were not posted and required a follow-up

I tried to use my Travel Pass recently for a flight originating outside Australia but there was no option to us it on payment page. Completed a Qantas feedback form & was told I could have used it. Rang premium line and they said I couldn’t use it outside of Aus. Can’t see anything in T & C. Anyone have any experience of this?

Hmm. I tried a dummy booking out of Taiwan and I do see a UATP option (logo next to all the other cards). I would presume the Qantas Pass would work here.

If you missed that though, I can't blame you since the Qantas instructions tells you to select "TravelPass/Credit" on the payment screen, which obviously doesn't seem to exist for overseas points of sale.

Thanks, didn’t realise I could have used UTAP. Lesson learned & DSC lost

Yeah, the Qantas Pass is just a UATP card that can only be spent with Qantas. Of course, it's possible that it wouldn't have worked on the non-AU Qantas websites, but I believe it would given this comment in the T&Cs which imply it supports other currencies
Your TravelPass is issued in the currency as displayed. If you'd like to use your credit for a booking in another currency, you may be charged a currency conversion fee.

Of course, I still think this is somewhat Qantas' fault given their instructions (from what I can find) all state you must select "Qantas Pass" on the checkout screen, which isn't really true for non-AU websites, but unfortunately I doubt you can get Qantas to let you retroactively use your pass (and even if they do, the manual process will likely break DSC and you'll have to chase that up)

Thanks for your insight. I tried to chase DSC that I would have earned via premium line who said pass wasn’t valid outside Aus, then filled in feedback form & they obviously did not get what I was talking about. Have used several passes before so was surprised by different payment page. Guess I’ll put it down to experience& hopefully no one else gets caught.

Good to see finally a batch run appears to have happened last night. Finally got early Dec qualifying DSC show up overnight. I was just starting to twitch a little bit but all good now.

No sign for my Christmas flights...

Has anyone used their DSC TravelPass this year and can confirm if DSCs are still being awarded?

In light of this news, I wonder if the DSC TP promotion will also carry through to 2024 for any travel booked this year.
