Hi, A close friend of mine has just recently had a pacemaker inserted and they are getting mixed information on going through security screening. The most common comment they have received is to show their pacemaker I.D card and ask to be patted down and not to go through the machines and if a wand is used to request that it not be used over the immediate area.
Can anyone with one give some advice please as they were hoping to travel in the new year.

TIA

The information sounds about right! Can you fly with a pacemaker? | London Heart Clinic

You carry your pacemaker ID and ask that if a wand is to be used, it is not swept over the immediate area of the pacemaker.

As always, talk to their doctor for any additional information relevant to their particular case.
