Hi all, I am used to traveling with prescription medicine (tablets) but on my next trip I need to take an injection which needs to be kept refrigerated. They are single use syringes and I will need to take 3 of them for a 3 week holiday. How do I pack them, how do I get thru security and how will the airline help me. I'll be staying in 4-5 star hotels so will have a mini fridge in my rooms

Google medication coolers - lots of them
They work off a reusable gel bag which will need a freezer to chill it
Some also have USB chiller capability.

Its just a little bag - pack in carry on
Ensure you have a copy of a doctors prescription
At security scanning - just show them the bag
No issues with airlines regarding carriage of personal medication chiller devices in carry on baggage.

However, check with the manufacturer of the medicines, most can be at room temperature (<30⁰C) for a short period - like a month or so

Perhaps something like these? I haven't got a need for them myself, but saw someone with one at security once.

I can't help on cooling but have had to take prefilled syringes through airport security - no issues in Australia, Singapore, UK, or Germany. There's some good info on cooling solutions and of course the paperwork will be the same as other times you have travelled with prescription medications, but if I could offer one piece of advice: if it's a three week trip, take 4-5, not 3. The last thing you want is to be caught short if your journey is interrupted for any reason.

My bestie swears by

Works better than the pouch type (only good for 6-10 hrs) and can keep at 4C for 48 hours so plenty of time if flying internationally to get to hotel and put in fridge.

If hotel fridge doeent have a freezer to refreeze the insert, often kitchen will freeze for you ahead of next leg. Or you can just add ice,

Sometimes asked what it is at security, but its always been allowed through when she says medicine (plus carries doctors note).
