Travelling London to Sydney and bought a tennis racket - all good to carry on?

Hi Guys, just bought a tennis racket in london and flying back out to sydney tomorrow so wondering if it is all good to take as carry on into the plane, it won't fit into my existing bag at this stage so don't want to lose it at security.

That is because Australia removed them from the banned list ... http://travelsecure.infrastructure.gov.au/international/onboard/prohibited_items.aspx

But the UK appears to not follow...

cool thanks well i'll double check with the airline then and might have to buy an emergency bag tomorrow
