My wife is in Singapore and needs to fly out on Wednesday afternoon - but I have her passport and I'm in Canberra right now!

I would be grateful if anyone flying out of CBR to SIN today could help us out. I' can drop the passport off to you and she'll come pick it up from you in Singapore from your hotel when you are available.

Please message me if you can help, thanks for your consideration.

Would going out to CBR a/p w' the p/p to the SQ flight be a backup? Maybe give it to someone on the flight in a position of responsibility - very outside chance I know, but maybe as a desperate move - not sure how you get in there though, but maybe someone here/there has a suggestion.

Might be a bit late...just need to loiter around the check-in area instead of boarding area.

But I fear all out brilliant ideas might be wasted.

Tried this.... spoke to someone at the counter working for SQ, but they said they could not take responsibility for official documents.

Have you checked what options are available with DHL/FedEx/Courier?

Have you checked with DFAT or the consulate in SIN for options?

Not enough time for the courier to guarantee it will get there on time unfortunately.

It's Wednesday now. What's the outcome?

FWIW, I appreciate this is probably as it seems, but there's no way whatsoever I'd carry something internationally on behalf of someone else.

Usually Id agree.... but a Passport like that...where presumably the OP could provide evidence of it being his wife? Yeah... I might.

In the end I posted it via courier, and rebooked the flight for later this week to enable enough time it to arrive. It's cost us a bit of money, but sometimes you just have to take it on the chin.

I totally understand if people don't want to take responsibility for other people's documents (as trooper suggested, I myself would probably want to test somebody's bona fides first before I helped out). I always thought it was a long shot, but worth trying.

Thanks anyway to everyone for their suggestions.

It's not only taking responsibility fo another's travel document in the sense of possibly losing it, but there are other potential implications as well. Immigration finding you with someone else's passport can lead to inconvenience, and possibly seizure.

...or the prospect that the passport is fraudulent and you're aiding people traffickers.

My view is that if it's a legitimate error then best to rely on legitimate channels to rectify even if it costs a few extra dollars.

Am I the only one wondering how she got to SIN in the first place? Unless they were both there and then the OP picked it up by mistake when leaving earlier. Odd.....

Never really explained. It would be almost impossible to find someone to carry the passport I would think.
