Travelling for a Bankrupt Company

With the greatest respsect to you as an individual. This sounds likely to be due the usual stupidity of Govt finance departments, that I've often experienced working for a state govt.

E.G. your boss tells you to go to a conference but you can't pay for it because it's over the limit on the CC. You can't pay for 2 single day registrations for the same person. But you can pay for 2 days registrations for 2 people because each registration is just under the limit but the total is 25% higher.

BTW the government can not go bust no matter what the real financial position is.
In my company you would get hung, drawn and quartered for splitting expenses if you did that. (I did my Business Practices Review session yesterday) :!:

.... and if my company went bust we would all be down the gurgler :!:

Hence, govt finance stupidity. You have approval from the holder of the money but can't spend it because of some artificial finance rule.

I even had a claim for fuel reimbusement queried because some finance rule didn't understand that petrol stations don't let people drive off without paying for their petrol.

edit: your company makes bath plugs?

I don't know about other departments, but we're pretty flexible. If people need more, a simple email from their boss and we'll up their monthly limit.

It's not a monthly limit it's a purchase limit.

On the country thing. Countries don't go bust because they just print more money, maybe this stuffs their economy and makes the currency worthless, but last time I checked their is still an Argentine Government but there is no more Ansett.

As I said, I can't speak for other depts but our cardholders can spend up to their card limit on any work related thing they like.. there are no interim limits as such..

In response to "What, there's no more Argentina?":

We English can only dream.

Aren't you lot over that YET?!?;)

Anyhoo, Argentina may well have not physically disappeared, but it came as close to total bankruptcy as any nation would care to. Or not care to, as the case may be.
