It wasn't too long ago that t/cheques were de rigueur for my overseas trips. I was cleaning (gasp!) draws at home when I came across Amex t/cheques and have no idea when I'll use them. They're in USD so I suppose I'll turn them into cash notes when I next go to the US.

Travellers cheques don't seem to be too popular now.

And just as well you found some you haven't used. Could have been there a lot longer.

Today I decided to cash my 3 x Amex T/Cs (EU $600) which I misplaced years ago. Went to my local St George Bank and was informed that they don't deal with T/Cs anymore. There you go.

What did you do with them then?

Cashed 200 euros @ 0.842 at a exchange booth. Quite sure I bought these @ low 0.60s. Travelling next week, so just trying to finalised everything. Still another 400 euros to go.
