Traveling with a robot

A colleague of mine is traveling with a robot weighing ~30kg next week. Although he considered booking a seat for the robot, he has decided it should travel as checked luggage. The robot's lasers have been removed so I guess it should be ok!

Two things come to mind...

1) You colleague had it right, Karl Stephanovic doesn't deserve a seat - to the hold with the robot I say.
2) Is your colleague female? If so and you planned ahead, you should have requested a dedication on the in-flight audio channel (something like Röyksopp ft. Robyn - The Girl and the Robot)

Yes, I went for the robot humour. I have nothing better to do on a Friday.

He could probably pass it off as an FA on certain carriers.

If it weighs about 30kg, be aware that many airlines will not accept any bags more than 32kg and will charge excess fees for anything over 20-23kg.

So it may be better to use a freight shipping company. Fed-Ex or similar (depending on country of origin) may be a suitable option.

The robot missed the flight and had to go across on a truck instead!

Oh good he is going on the truck!

He wouldn't have been allowed in the Cabin either! The 7kg limit still applies and the object must have a handle and be able to have the seatblet go around it and through the handle to keep it secure
