There is a Facebook site "life hacks" where you use initiative to solve otherwise difficult problems to make situations easier. I vaguely remember something similar on AFF but cannot locate through my searches. The one I remember was, and I use it regularly, to take an Australian power board when traveling overseas, with 1 international adaptor and then you can use you Australian power charges without multiple adapters. After spending so many years trying to have a shave in a hotel without a plug for the sink, or a plug that does not seal correctly to retain the water, this morning I used the lid of the shaving cream can and it successfully sealed the drain. No plug was available, and it worked a treat. Anyone have any traveling hacks they use to make traveling easier.ImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1392240997.892521.jpgImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1392241016.759057.jpgImageUploadedByAustFreqFly1392241065.744541.jpg

What I have found recently is I do not need a power adaptor in Thailand.

The mobile phone charger works in all hotels without a power adaptor.

Hotels often have power points that will accommodate an Aussie two point power point but a three point plug is another thing. Adaptors are easy to buy in market and the Thai word is very similiar. A 5 multi plug adaptor board was 130 Bht whist a single adaptor was 80 Bht JoyV

Two indispensable things I find useful. Several squares of Chux towels. Light weight, can cut to size for multi uses. A small square can be inserted around a bathroom plug that doesn't quite fit to make it water tight. Tea towel, face washer, make up remover.

Old fashioned nappy pins - can hold zipper pull tabs together so zipper won't separate during your trip. Reckon they are as good as locks cos if anyone wants to get in they will.
Can use to pin your hand washing together as you can hang them over shower rail and pin them together. Can use to pin a stole together is you want additional warmth or cover at any time.

You can use it on tech equipment which has pin hole activation like Nexus phone. Nail cleaner if nothing else.
