Travel SIM for NZ

Hi Experts , we will be visiting NZ shortly for around 2 weeks ; The optus roaming comes at a daily date of AUD5 , hence looking for any better and cheap options to have data over the entire duration which works out to be close to 60AUD if I use the default Optus roaming option. Have done some research online and all the eSIM options are providing around 10GB data for $20 with no calling option.

Appreciate any pointers or suggestions. ta

At the NZ airports will be kiosks selling physical SIM's. These will *not* be the best deals.
In CHC some are before immigration and are others land side. Expect other airports the same.
Unlike AU no need for identity check.
Sign up for a 28day/1 month deal and do not renew. Many (most?) include free calls & text to AU.

Any supermarket, some petrol stations and shopping malls will be selling SIM's

If you’re primarily after data, just get an eSIM from Airalo (eg US$9/2GB/15days) or Flexiroam (eg 3GB/US$16/14d) etc

If you make sure Optus Data roaming is turned off you’ll still be able to receive txt for free.
