For kicks I'm going to go to flight centre travel show on the gold coast today.
Only cause we got a good fare to europe last year from the Brisbane one..

But do you think these types of events are worth it ?

Yeah, worth a look - They often have some good fares, but if wanting to buy any fares there make sure you have a cooling off period or have a friend somewhere you can call and get them to check alternative prices.

I think the better part of the shows is actually having various tourist organisations and airlines in the same place. Is nice to wander around and grab brochures to see what is available and get some ideas.

I went to the BNE one last year too. I recall they had EY there heavily promoting their non-existant A380 :p

Nothing much there. Now that flight center dont offer Singapore Airlines.
A couple of hundred off a bne-lhr flight in july , Qantas into Q ..
ANZ prices same as website... nothing much to see.

Had a quick visit at SYD, left after a few minutes, but as I was leaving I bumped into an ex-gf that I haven't talked to like in 10yrs+

Visited one of these things in PER before, and I wasn't very impressed with their fares knowledge. Let's just say I knew more about RTW fares than they did.

I visited one in our home town the other day and learnt a lot about a few places that I did not know. Certainly info to look into when planning future trips. :D
