Be aware that some TI companies do not cover for terrorism.

I thought that was a pretty blanket exemption? Interesting scenario though. I wonder what happens if you are hospitalised as a result of a terrorist act. Would the treating hospital bill you? Or would it be covered by the state? I suppose there could be associated costs of family needing accommodation while you are in hospital.

That sucks! TIDs FAQs state you're not covered for cancellation costs for parts of the trip that fall outside the current policy expiry date. Can you book refundable hotels or cars for that period and convert them to non-ref once you renew your annual policy at the 30 day mark?

We've already committed some serious coin to secure flights, hotels, etc .... we're heading to some remote places in Belize, Guatemala, and Mexico so had to book early.

The 30 day limit is the villain. I can purchase another annual policy and have double insurance for the balance of existing policy - great arrangement for TID. No thanks.

Quite a few companies allow annual policies to be taken out up to 12 months out. I'll take out another policy, but not with TID.
