Does anyone have any recommendations for the best iPhone app? Happy to pay if it's worth it

Paging @TheRealTMA because I think I saw you had some on a recent post but can't find it

The argumentative iPhone denier is still suspended so hopefully I won't get any grief from that corner

You can just use Google translate. Hold over text and select translation or take photo and translate.

I actually saw a helpful tip on a translation forum recently about this exact issue:

"When translating Devanagari from images, the OCR might fail if the source uses legacy fonts. You’ll often need to use a krutidev to unicode tool to fix the encoding so the translated text actually makes sense in your iPhone’s modern apps."
It can be really hit or miss with the built-in iPhone camera translator, especially when dealing with stylized scripts or older printed materials. I’ve noticed that even if the app picks up the characters, the output often looks like scrambled code because of how the original text was encoded.
