I'm just after everyone's advice on this one.

I've booked some flights which are as follows:

ORD-YVR (UA)
YVR-YYZ (AC)
YYZ-SCL (AC)
SCL-EZE (LA)

The first flight departs ORD at 9:45am. I'll be living in YUL at the end of the year so I was looking to position using AA4427 YUL-ORD which leaves YUL at 6am and arrives at ORD at 7:25. So that gives me a 2:20 minute transit time.

My concern is that I'll have to check-in in ORD as AA won't be able to check me in for my UA, AC & LA flights. I believe I'll have to change terminals in ORD, so will 2:20 be enough time to get off the AA flight, walk to the UA terminal and re-check? (I should be hand luggage only, at least for this part of the trip) UA advertise a 2 hour check-in time for International Flights but it's in First so I thought I might get a little leeway?

Or would you recommend I fly to ORD the night before and overnight. This obviously adds a night of accomodation to the mix though.

Also, the LA flight is on the same ticket as the UA & AC ones so will UA be able to issue me with my LA boarding pass?

Cheers,

If all goes to plan I would say 2 plus hours would be fine, however ORD can be a nightmare, 600 flights cancelled on Friday, luckily mine wasn't. What time of year?

Thanks winetraveller, it'll be late September. I'm just as concerned about ORD as getting out of Montreal if there's fog or something. At least the aircraft overnights though.

If you don't leave the terminal, you should be OK. IIRC you can transit between terminals without having to come back in through security... this might be an issue though if collecting bags, and have to re-check and go back through security again.
