Transiting LAX

Hi all,

Has anyone recently transited LAX from QF to Alaskan?
I understand there is no true "transiting" as such. I will be required to clear immigration.
I am then flying on to Mex City with Alaskan, booked on the same PNR with Qantas.
So will I be required to collect my bags, change terminals, or will they go thru to Mex City.

You will need to clear immigration, collect bags, and clear Customs. The good news is that as soon as you get out of the Customs area you should be able to drop your bags at the "transfer baggage" area (assuming they are tagged all the way through as you imply)...

Ok thanks. Looks as though if they are tagged through then I go to the transfer desk. If not, I need to go to the Alaskan check in counters.
