When checking in for a VA flight to LAX with an onwards connection with DL on the same ticket, VA check-in staff will usually provide the BP for the DL flight at LAX.
However, in order to board the DL flight you need to get a BP printed by DL at LAX. The VA issued BP doesn't indicate your status and more importantly if you've got lucky and been granted TSA PRE-CHECK.
The tip is to get your DL issued BP at one of the check-in counters in the terminal BEFORE attempting to go thru security screening. That way you'll know if you've been fortunate enough to be granted TSA PRE-CHECK
I found out the hard way this morning lining up for 45 minutes to get thru security at T2 only to find out that when I eventually got to the lounge and had my BP reprinted it showed I had been given TSA PRE-CHECK......I could have saved myself a whole lot of time.
I'll know for next time what to do.
