Hi all, new forum member here :)

I did a search and saw other posts saying it's okay to leave Singapore Airport if you transiting (We have a 11 gap on our DPS to SYD flight in September). What I couldn't see any posts on was whether there were any taxes involved for exiting the airport and coming back later to check in for the next flight.

Additionally, I saw on another post that in HK when catching/changing to two flights on the day you can claim back some tax (a small amount around AUD$20). Is this a standard thing or does it depend on the country?

No tax to be paid in Singapore leaving or entering - all included in the ticket price.

There are more taxes paid when staying in Singapore vs transiting.

MEL-xSIN-HND (return)
Singapore Passenger Service And Security Charge (SG) A$5.60
Singapore Passenger Security Service Charge Pssc (OO) A$5.60

MEL-SIN (return)
Singapore Passenger Service And Security Charge (SG) A$18.50
Singapore Passenger Security Service Charge Pssc (OO) A$7.50
Singapore Aviation Levy (OP) A$5.70

That said, if you have a transit and enter the city, they aren't going to make you pay the extra.

Thanks Himeno. I am also transiting through SIN on a BKK trip at the end of the year so this information helps.
