I'm flying DRW-DPS-KUL and want to know how transit works in DPS now - do you need to clear customs/retrieve bag - is there a transit option in DPS these days? I don't want to pay arrival fees as I'm only there a few hours....

Also, do JQ tag bags to Malaysian? the booking is all one PNR, and I don't want to recover bags and recheck if I don't have to.

Anyone had any experiences like this?

That's good news - what lounge does MH use? I have OW Emerald, and when you checkin at DPS, they normally give you an "invitation" to surrender at the lounge reception - unsure how this will work when in transit

Lounge can call check in otherwise ask at the transit desk.

My understanding is JQ only transfer baggage to a partner airline provided:

1: the transfer is international to internatioanl
2: a partner airline is the 2nd international airline - Mh is a partner airline
3: both flights are on the single booking.

So in your case you are good to go.

(Exceptions for Japan domestic to international)

Yes - all on the same booking. Feeling positive this "should" work favourable

I've done an international transit in DPS a few times. It was a fairly painless experience.

You will need your next BP in order to get through transit security. But there are airline transit desks in that area that should be open for transit passengers that are connecting within a reasonable time.

If you already have your MH boarding pass, they should not even be necessary. But they can print off a proper MH boarding pass and a lounge invitation.
