My elderly Mum is connecting from CX100 to CX888 in May. While she's generally pretty independent, she's a bit concerned about the transit at HKG. She has done it before but it was many years ago. She's not as good with walking long distances as she once was and she's worried about whether there might be long distances to navigate around HKG. I'm sympathetic about her concerns as HKG is big and if CX100 arrives at a distant gate to the transfer area, she will face what may be for her a daunting walk.

Does CX offer any assistance to seniors who might be anxious about the transit through HKG? She doesn't need a wheelchair, but she'd welcome a buggy ride if that is possible (either side of connection security). If CX does offer this sort of assistance, do we arrange it via CX in Sydney or via CX at HKG?

Many thanks for the assistance!

Given it is CX to CX I would expect that wheelchair from gate to gate can be easily organised but dont leave it to time of departure. Contact the airline a week or two ahead and confirm arrangements.

My elderly mother who was unsteady on her feet and using a walker travelled from AU to LHR on her own via TYO and requested airline assistance in advance. She was picked up from the door of the incoming plane and transferred via the lounge to wait, and then to the door of the departing flight.
