My girlfriend and I have 16000 UA mileage plus points each from a one off trip through the US last year. We are close to reaching the total QFF points for 2 return trips SYD-LHR and would be interested in any way we can transfer these UA points to QFF through another points programme or card provider. I can use any system that is either UK or Australian based.

If this is not an option does anyone have any advice on using this relatively small amount of UA points. It doesn't appear sufficient for even a trip to NZ but any info would be appreciated.

I can't comment on transfers. I believe however you could purchase UA miles to get you sufficient points for an award trip.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

somehow I doubt you'll have many takers

15,000 QF miles is enough for one way economy SYD-ADL

100,000 UA miles is enough for return business class from SYD to anywhere in US/Canada/Caribbean or Central America

soh, as Kiwi Flyer pointed out, the devaluation of your UA MP points by using another "flow through" account simply doesn't justify it.

Again, I agree with his comment about buying points from QF (assuming you can buy enough to get you over the line for the SYD/LHR return requirements); or finding others ways to access more points by the time you need to book them (i.e. family transfers, taking more flights, CC points transfer, etc). Best of luck!

Thanks for the advice folks. We should have enough QFF points for the 2 return SYD-LHR in the next few months. I was just interested to know if the UA points would be of any use to me in the QFF programme. I'll check with UA on buying additional miles for a flight to NZ and weigh up if the points purchase costs and taxes are worthwhile. If not then will simply leave them to die in peace.
